The effectiveness of the tool has been highly praised by experts. In a study published in the journal Nature, the development team reported that nearly two dozen historians found Aeneas helpful 90% of the time.

In a notable test, Aeneas was used to analyze the Res Gestae Divi Augusti, a famous inscription detailing the reign of Emperor Augustus. 

The AI’s analysis offered two possible time spans for the inscription, perfectly mirroring a long-standing debate among historians. As Sommerschield put it, this shows how AI can be used for "modeling historical uncertainty."
