L&T Technology Services Secures Five-Year R&D Contract with Nokia in India

L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has signed a strategic five-year contract with Nokia to support its engineering and research and development activities in India. 

The collaboration combines LTTS's deep-tech engineering capabilities with Nokia's expertise in telecommunications. 

While the specific financial terms and contract size were not disclosed, the agreement marks a major expansion in Nokia's strategic technology operations within the country.

As part of the initiative, LTTS will establish a dedicated Offshore Development Center (ODC) in India equipped with data-center-grade compute capabilities and AI-infrastructure engineering. 

A specialized engineering team will also be formed to work closely with Nokia’s global technology centers. 

The scope of work spans the entire development lifecycle, including product engineering, software development, system integration, embedded systems, new product development, and ongoing technical support.

The partnership will focus heavily on next-generation telecom technologies, including 5G networks, intelligent automation, AI-driven operations, and advanced AI infrastructure. 

Operating under an integrated model, LTTS's local engineering team will act as an direct extension of Nokia's global R&D ecosystem, driving innovation tailored for next-generation communications and datacenters.

Leadership from both companies emphasized the strategic value of the partnership.

 Vivek Jaiswal, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Nokia, highlighted India's role as a vital innovation hub and commended LTTS's technical expertise. 

Alind Saxena, Executive Director and President at LTTS, noted that the deal aligns seamlessly with the company's "Lakshya 31 Big Bet" strategy focusing on next-gen compute and AI infrastructure.

This long-term agreement underscores the growing trend of global tech leaders tapping into India's deep engineering talent pool to build scalable, AI-ready telecom solutions. 

By leveraging LTTS's technical intelligence and execution capabilities, Nokia aims to accelerate product development, strengthen its global competitiveness, and solidify its R&D presence in a key strategic geography.
