EA Launches $1 Million Battlefield 6 Redsec Elite Series Tournament

Electronic Arts (EA) has officially announced a major new competitive circuit for Battlefield 6's battle royale mode, known as Redsec. 

Titled the Battlefield Redsec Elite Series, the tournament circuit will feature a substantial prize pool of more than $1 million, signifying EA's commitment to developing a robust and high-stakes esports ecosystem for the game.

The inaugural Elite Series is scheduled to launch on December 10 and will involve a total of 600 competitors. 

The participant roster will be a mix of established professional players and new, emerging talent looking to make their mark in the professional scene. 

These competitors will be organized into fifty squads, with teams handpicked by invited team captains across three primary competitive regions: the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

The initial phase of the competition will see these squads battling it out over six online Redsec battle royale matches. 

The top eight squads emerging from this segment will then advance to a specialized, knockout-style elimination round. 

This advanced stage will be played within Redsec's distinct Gauntlet mode, with the entire format for the Elite Series set to unfold over a period of three days.

In addition to the main Elite Series, EA is also launching an Open Series, beginning just two days later on December 12. 

This parallel competition is designed to allow any aspiring players to enter and compete. 

Successful squads from the Open Series will earn a crucial opportunity to qualify and compete directly in the Elite Series alongside the professional players, creating a clear pathway for talent development. Registration for the Open Series is being handled through Repeat.gg.

EA’s decision to launch this major tournament series comes shortly after Battlefield 6's successful release in October, which attracted millions of players. 

This move positions Battlefield 6 firmly within the competitive battle royale esports landscape, pushing forward alongside established titles like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and PUBG, and demonstrates the publisher's strategy to generate sustained excitement and engagement for the game.
